Volontariat is an Indian charitable organization, its aim is to help the most suffering and poor. The association, chaired by Mrs Baubry, is legally recognized by the Indian government authorities, registred under the act of 1860, amended by section 38, 1966 act.
All the activities lead by Volontariat are based around Pondicherry (Tamil Nadu region in southern India) in the following places.
OUPPALAM:
- SELVA
NILAYAM, where the offices, the people's dispensary, the
kitchen and the cantine are located.
- SHAKTI VIHAR, a centre for the children, with
the nursery, the kindergarten, the classrooms and the training
workshops for the adults, and also the management of sponsoring
program.
- The COMMUNITY CENTRE which is composed of two
big rooms ( with audiovisual aids) used for the development of
the education programmes and sometimes for celebrations
(weddings).
DUBRAYPETH
- where the SHANTI workshop is situated. This
workshop is a rehabilitation centre by weaving for disabled
people, in particular cured lepers. It is composed of weaving
workshop and a sowing workshop.
TUTTIPETH:
- situated at 20km from Pondicherry is the village where the TOUTIPAKAM
farm was created to participate to the green revolution.
Today it covers the food needs of the organization. It's also a
nice holiday place and seminars centre.

- Volontariat is supported by French and Belgian organizations.
All the people who support Volontariat since the first day are
voluntary.
